Exceptional coffee from Monsoreto (VV), a small village in Calabria
Monsoreto lies between the province of Vibo Valentia and Reggio Calabria (San Pietro di Caridà). For many of its inhabitants, Monsoreto is the home village they left behind in Italy: in the 1950s, many emigrated to Switzerland to find work. The population shrank to barely 800, an economic decline from which the village never recovered.
The Campisi family remained loyal to their land and have run a grain mill since 1920, now in the fourth generation. After a period of experimentation, the small family craft business added a new activity: a small coffee roastery.
Before roasting, the high-quality coffee is carefully checked and each blend is roasted using a very precise process, slowly and gently. At the right moment, all attention turns to releasing the coffee at exactly the right time. The selection, the roasting and the production of small artisan batches of quality set this two-person business apart from others.
This is how the Campisi Caffè Espresso & Lungo Qualità Monsoreto E.S.E. pods were born.
